Mardi Grass funnel scale model

Today I have been working on a couple of new funnels, this time they will get the iconic MARDI GRAS/Carnival livery.

Red, the color of passion! With the blue back part the Mardi Gras funnels are having their iconic Carnival livery.

It has been a pleasant couple of days in the workshop, processing and airbrushing MARDI GRAS funnelsβthe original βfun ship" which set the trend for the iconic Carnival livery.

I needed a table saw for cutting the model display bases...
- What to do?
- Build one myself of course!
I repurposed some spare material that was sitting in the shed for several years now and a spare power jigsaw. This will make studio work soo much more easy!

A look inside the kitchen
For my models I use a variety of warm woods, like Mahogany and Teak. After a light sanding and cleaning I apply a coat of Danish Oil to brighten up the base blocks.

Its a color fest in the studio today, and the green Empress of C still needs to be painted.
