Sea Venture / Pacific Princess models

Special scale models of the funnel of Sea Venture / Pacific Princess.

This is my Sea Venture model in scale 1:200 from my collection. I had build it in 2020 in my favourite "white" style. Beautifull shapes reveal themself best in this pristine form.

 

In contrast to my "white" style work from 2020 I am passionate to make a couple very special scale models of the funnel of Sea Venture / Pacific Princess. Delicate details, accurate colours and shapes are the focus of those models.

I use my private archive of builder plans and vast photo collection as a reference material for the design. And colors are not easy, the mixture I used for my Pacific Princess illustrations are not directly applicable to models, I had to "scale" down the saturation of the color.

The logo had several restyling, from two tone green-blue to only blue without the eye to the more stylized version that is still in use today. Without the eye it looks too abstract for my taste. But I am interested in green-blue version anyways.

This i how the preview of those funnel models looked like in March 2024.

Meticulously hand painting all the tiny Princess logo's for the Pacific Princess funnel.

Super excited to share with you all the finished results of the PACIFIC PRINCESS and SEA VENTURE funnels in scale.

Making these is a lot of fun, testing my hand painting skills with these intricate logos.
