MS Ambience big illustration

I'm excited to share my latest ship illustration – the elegant MS Ambience, flagship of Ambassador Cruise Line.
Launched in 1991 as Regal Princess for Princess Cruises, this vessel represents the pinnacle of early 1990s cruise ship design. Her distinctive exterior, featuring a graceful dolphin-like profile and a striking rounded dome over the forward superstructure, was crafted by the renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano (famous for projects like The Shard in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris). This innovative design brought Italian sophistication, expansive open decks, and panoramic views to the premium cruise market.
After many successful years on North American itineraries, she later sailed as Pacific Dawn for P&O Cruises Australia. Following an extensive refit, she emerged in 2022 as the intimate and classic MS Ambience, offering traditional British-style cruising for up to 1,400 guests. With her timeless lines and generous passenger space ratio, she remains one of my favorite subjects to draw – a true survivor of maritime evolution.

This precisely detailed illustration is based on extensive research using original photographs, general arrangement plans, and design specifications to capture her accurately from bow to stern.
The museum-quality Giclée print (1 meter long) is now available in the webshop: Order the MS Ambience print here
As always, printed on premium acid-free paper with a luster finish, shipped worldwide in a sturdy tube from The Netherlands.
Which classic cruise ship should I illustrate next? Let me know.
